Work

Working with my collection

Today I was at the Bik Bok offices to start the work with the production of my collection. We are five designers all together who have designed different mini collections containing of five key pieces for fall 2011. And you know what, this is just crazy.. crazy cool!  Bik Bok is quite a nice place to work let me tell you. When you come into the building it looks like a shopping mall or something, with meeting rooms, and offices for all the different brands in the Warner group. The place is very nice, with cool furniture, and my favorite.. an amazing cafeteria. The designers and buyers who work there are so friendly, and it just seems like such a good environment to work in.

Today we had a little photo shoot, took a profile picture for some press material. And then I sat down with a couple designers and discussed measurements and details for my collection. I’m going back there tomorrow too, to get the final details done. And then prototypes will be made, in China or maybe Turkey. Probably I will get to see the first prototypes in just a few weeks. God.. how exiting!

Kaleidoscopic music

Lancia Trend Visions called Andy Gilmores work "music to your eyes". I couldn't agree more! Andy Gilmore is a 36 year old graphic designer, illustrator and musician with an array of different talents - like these kaleidoscopic designs, His many clients include the New York Times T Magazine, Wired and Wallpaper, to name just a few.

Closet Therapy

Details: Jacket: Bik Bok (2005 I think), Belt and skirt: H&M.
Finally, I got to move the last two suitcases of clothes into my new wardrobe. Moving into a new apartment involves heavy work! At least it forces you to tidy up, cleaning out - and revealing hidden gems. Tried and tested out clothes I had forgot about. With a pair of scissors, this skirt fit much better! I prefer it short:) The rest of the outfit is more or less random findings that I threw on.

Fashionillustrations

Been working all weekend with A big school assignment in Fashion illustrations.
I spent 12 hours with it on Saturday and 4 hours yesterday.
I`m really struggling in this subject. But it turned out OK.
This is 2 of my pictures before I got they on their background. I`ll show you the completed work when I get it back from my teacher.

So.. What U think?
I Know  I`m not Picasso but I`m proud I finished this thing that's way out of my comfort zone.
It almost inspired me to keep on drawing and become even better.

Francesco Scognamiglio fall 2011 | Milan Fashion Week

I love the use of colors - the beiges, blacks, and the deep reds in the final. The shapes are lovely, very feministic, and I adore Scognamiglio's work with the ruffles!

Winter vacation

IMG_4662IMG_4660

Today's the last day of work before the winter vacation next week. I love being a teacher and having many long vacations to enjoy! Nevertheless I have two big piles of essays and tests that I need to correct next week so I won't be able to relax completely. My boyfriend's mother arrived yesterday and she's going to stay with us for a week. Hopefully it won't be too cold outside so that we'll be able to get out a little bit while she's here. She's not used to cold or snow (I think this might be the first or second time she's seen any)at all, --

RIPP IT

I'm sorry, I haven't posted any thing in ages now. I have had so much to do lately, since I've started pole dancing!! It is so much fun, and so so hard. So I have been working out for almost 2-3 hours every day. My body is in so much pain, I have bruises all over my legs and my hands are bandaged from all of the burns in my hands. haha. But I really recommend it, it's the best work out ever.

But in the pictures you can see above, this is a vest I made on the knitting machine. It's in black yarn. It was a really tough job, I haven't made any thing like it, but I'm very happy about how it turned out. I found my inspiration from a top by Topshop. I'm sorry the photos are in really bad quality, I shot it with my Iphone.

Synsam event.

John and Yoko (aka stylist Jeanette Hoff and her assistent Martine). So last week was very busy, but I managed to do some fun stuff in between work (which is also fun, hehe). Anyways Synsam, a huge glasses and sun glass chain over here, had their press day, and we got to try on all [...]

New York v.1

New York has a lot to offer. We haven’t really done anything other than to enjoy what NYC has to offer since we arrived, work starts tomorrow. Tight schedule, lots to see, and loads of things to write about. Here’s a few snaps of the joys of life. Enjoy!

SILLY DAYS

And then it was monday, once again. It's not that I don't like going to school, because I love all the drawing and sawing, but as everything else it can get a bit tiring. That's why I like when we can be a bit silly, just kidding around for a while before we have to but our nose in our work, and concentrate. So I have a new assignment at school now, we all have to Design/draw our own fashion collection, where we have to use all the different methods we have learned. And it's not as easy as it sounds, but it fun. I'm making a funky glittery, disco meets rock collection.

Eva & the Heartmakers

A few months ago I styled this photo of Eva and the Heartmakers and a few others for their upcoming album cover.  I can´t wait to hear and see the result! In the meantime the super talented band has received great reviews from all the Norwegian papers, including NyPost on their new album which is [...]

CANDLES, CAPPUCCINO AND TIFFANY

So this saturday has been so good, after work I went to meet my friend Anniken to meet over a cup of coffee. And when I got home, at first I sat down with my patents and some friends of them chatting for a bit, and jump in my new Juicy Couture suite, lighting some candles, making me a cup of cappuccino and jump in my bad with my new teenVogue magazine. And today I also FINALY got back my tiffany bracelet.  I got this for my sixteen birthday, and I manage to break it, so for two years I've been trying to get my mom to bring it somewhere to fix it, but we have forgot about it so many times. But now it's fixed, and I got it back to day, so i'm very happy.

Contact

Here's a little secret I've been keeping from you guys. Desirée Skalle tricked me into modeling for her fashion shoot "Contact" this fall. It was super-scary and I was of course all kinds of awkward. I do think I did a better job than I thought, though - and I'm really impressed with Desirées work! What do you think?Photographer: Desirée Skalle
