Hi loves! Right now I’m at the airport enjoying a glass of wine with my bestie and C. In a couple of minutes we’re boarding the plane to Cyprus. Can’t wait for sun and fun! Finally it’s time to leave – after months with rain and crappy cold weather.
I’m not sure how much time I’ll have to update, but I’ll do my best! Have a wonderful day lovebugs! I know I will!
Went shopping with May-Synnøve yesterday. Offcourse we had some timeouts with coffe and wine.
I did it good on the shopping, came home with a total of elleven new things mostly from Monki and weekday. Inkluding the round sunglasses.
Today it`s Sunday and the sun is shining. But I should do some work. A little writing, some reaserch, and repair for tomorrows photoshoot. Have a great Sunday.
Moodboard- Photoshoot Muse: Lou Doillon Inspiration: Man Ray Location: At A Circus Model: The Norwegian model Maria Mørkrid
I`m so happy, happy, happy. Been strugling for A long time now with this, but today I received positive feedback from both teachers to classmates for my moodboard.
Had to celebrate it with a glas of wine offcourse.
You know it’s not going too well when you need to pull out the wine. I feel like such an artist..but not in a good way. Only two more days until deadline. Wish me luck.
When I’m finished with this madness I’ll answer mails, sorry you guys.. And I’ll even get out of my comfort ensamble and dress up and take outfit photos and stuff. Paint my nails and get out of the apartment.
Same outfit as the other day, but I thought I’d post this anyway, cause I kinda like the picture. It reminds me of something from the 90s actually. Today it’s snowing like crazy, and I’m not even gonna try to take an outfit photo. I sure hope for more sunny days soon. Anyway, there’s good things with this weather too, like red wine, good food, or one of my favourites; dark chocolate with chili. With the cold winter giving us all the reasons in the world to stay indoors, we might as well enjoy it, right?
"God made only water but man made wine" (Victor Hugo, 1856). It is temptation, passion and lust. Raw, human feelings that drive us into carnation, love and our own flesh. Submerging deep into that glass of red wine, the realization of human devotion to red is more than recognizable. Its' deep coloration stands for more than just a grape alcoholic beverage but in some way as human carnality as a parallel with our own flesh and blood. The symbolic power of wine has dimension into our own way of living as it represents that inner passion and drive within. Its' color and symbolic meaning has been used in religion, history and art proving once again that things are never just what they seem.
Staring at a wide glass of red wine, reality comes into a different perspective. There is some sort of magic in the sense that there is so much depth and dimension. Looking aside from the taste and the fact that it contains alcohol, the dark, rich color of red seems infinite. Uncomplicated and pure, it just is. Tapping into that wonderful source of inspiration comes Double Magazine with a portrayal of those passionate emotions through fashion as Camille Vivier is witness to a spectacle of deep inner reflections. Yet although highly emotional, this editorial stands strong for its' own statement. The strong yet feminine gaze and stance ofSaskia de Brauw @ VIVA Paris and DNA NY is as commanding as it is appeasing. And as she lounges in what seems to be a classic French wine villa, reality seems to fade away and emotions become alive. Just as that glass of red wine, infinite and deep, that allows our notions and stress to be released, Saskia removes all complexity and comes with a simple presentation of love, passion and devotion.
The rise of Jil Sander and Calvin Klein in the 90s gave a new meaning to fashion. Instead of the fully detailed fashion of the previous decades, a new, simpler approach of "less is more" was created. Clean lines and pure colors became the uncomplicated way to look at style. In a present age of continuous alternatives and choices for everyday style, Charlotte Collet gives us a throwback into that simple aesthetic and attitude, proving utter more that it still applies. Portraying mainly the vivid and burgundy red yet complimented with some soft pink and latte cream colored pieces, an elegant mood is composed out of elements that are rather simple. Simple is color combination throughout. By matching equal color throughout an entire look, a cleaner and stronger look is made. There is a strength in one and in this case, a strength in strong yet feminine colors that not only emphasize the skin but also have texture.
Simple is also the new definition of femininity translated through each shot and each look. The use of revealing cuts and alluring dropping lines is unnecessary. All this type of simple woman needs is a defined waist. Through each shot and no matter pants, skirt or dress, each look seems to be hugging her body, contouring her shape. It is a subtle way to call upon that person that is both comfortable and aware of her own body. There seemed to be a sense of alluring innocence in Johannes Vermeer's "Girl with a Pearl Earring" and playing on that same feeling, each look is exquisitely playful without being pretentious. Moving on that unpretentious statement is the use of moccasins. There is no doubt that a woman in heels is a woman in control and a woman that wants to be noticed by the world. Yet through these editorial photographs, moccasins become more than just everyday shoe wear but an easy way to power up a simple look. Moccasins stand for that subtle masculinity that mixed with that sleek femininity becomes a simple statement: Heels are not the only thing that possess power. A woman so confident that with moccasins has thrown away preconceptions and just as her look, she just is. What is more powerful than that.
Carnality seems to recurring thought throughout. Yet how does such a raw term fit into such a seemingly appeasing set of shots? The answer is in the vividness and power of the color. The bright, fiery red of the Givenchy blazer and the Maison Martin Margiela wide pants seem to come alive in a sea of green dramatically showing command and passion. In a different way, the slender coat from Lanvin and simple burgundy red pieces from Jill Sander, Hermès and Lacoste play on a more mellow emotion of devotion: An undertone to emotion yet just as equally driven by passion. And to compliment the whole array of emotion comes romanticism. Portrayed by the soft pink and latte cream colored pieces, romanticism is not only the most silent expression of passion but also one of the most intriguing. As it is not as apparent to the eye, it has to be read between the lines. Through Saskia's timid yet confident stance, romanticism is not only played through her expression but throughout her whole body. As passion is clearly evident through color throughout the editorial, the carnality of such becomes more and more evident. More than just shades of light, each color plays a vital role in showing the raw human emotions surrounding love and passion. Demonstrating that less is more, love is also shown to be uncomplicated yet with many faces at the same time and that a message of passion not only can be carried through words or action but through the body and style as well.
When a person thinks of passion and raw feelings, a Cindy Crawford-esque woman comes to mind. Fully aware of her body, stance and confident in her own self. Yet sometimes the greater message is portrayed through the most unlikely source. Saskia de Brauw stands for that woman that is not the generic supermodel but rather that girl in the crowd that although does not need to be the center of attention, she commands attention through her unique and clearly emotional state of being. It is not about being over the top or revealing but rather a confident woman not afraid to be simple, not afraid to be shy and not afraid to show her true passion for all that she loves. Saskia's short cut emphasizes that sense of quirkiness in the sense that this is every woman and through her expressions and body language, she speaks to every woman as she in touch with her emotion and femininity. She is reflected and pure. Now that is the true meaning of vivid emotion and passion.
Life is what you make of it: Red, wine, love and passion. You can choose to look at the simple glass of wine as a way to forget troubles and sorrow or to enjoy an evening alone. Equally, you can choose to look at love as a mere feeling that comes and goes and passion as an object only to be shown in the bed sheets of your own bed. But it is when you read between the lines and see the vast dimension in that simple glass that all other things come into perspective. Carnality is alive all around you. Love and passion are not merely just that but they are intertwined in color and touch as well. The love of red is no longer a love for a shade of color but a statement of emotion and inner reflection. A statement that announces a will to live and love passionately.
I`m so ready to enter 2011 now. I belive 2011 is MY year. I`ve been stucked at the same place for quite a long time now. (So bored I could die)
I`m all dressed up in my fab dress from Asos, only waiting for the turkey to be served. Delicious food, wine and family. This new year is more than welcome.
Happy new year every one of you, and I hope U will be following me next year as well as a fashionstudent in Oslo. Lots of love Ida xxx
I went to Puerto Rico. I Bought Sonia Rykiel by H&M pieces and wore it alot. I wore colorfull dresses and drank some wine. I I was sick and not aloud to work, so I did some painting and drank wine at lunchtime. I had this really fun photoshoot with my boyfriend, where we turned our livingroom to a photostudio. Great memories. And I drank some more wine offcourse. We went to Stockholm for shopping. I was obsessed with undercuts and did this killer-cut on my boo. . I threw my extensions away, and grew my own hair long. Finally!! I wore my Ray bans way to often. I spent fourteen lazy days in Turkey this summer. I drank wine with good friends. I went to Oslo with the Zahl-sisters for Oslo fashion week and forgot my camera at home. That`s bad blogger behavior. I got my second pair designer shoes and two designer bags as well.. I got tired of my hair,so I got a fringe. Again! And then I drank some more wine.. My good friend Hanne got married and I got the honorful job to do her hair and make up.
I cant hardly wait to see what next year brings.. In Oslo. This year has been amazing in every way. I`ve got to travel alot, shop designer pieces, see new places, focus on my carrier and decide to become a student and do something more about my passion for fashion.
I need you to give me some tips about Paris! Next Thursday I´m going to Paris with my best-friend, we´re staying from Thursday evening-Sunday evening. I have wanted to take the train from London to Paris since I can remember, and now I get to do it. It takes only 2hrs 15mins, that´s like super fast!! But we´re going on a student-budget, so give tips thereafter:-) Places to wine and dine, shops.. Bring it on!!
Have you ever had that feeling that u get butterflies in ur stomach? You laugh uncontrolably for NO reason what so ever?.. You have a feeling of being in love, but your not.. I`ve had that feeling for the last days, could it be the boat? I find myself smiling and giggling for myself, I want to enjoy a glass of wine just for the the taste of it, I actually plan my weekends outfit already. Whats going on? Is it a clisje to say that I feel like a new person?
Life is pretty good now days.. No worries and just pure happyness. I have a feeling something amazing is right around the corner. Or maybe its here now?
I was thinking about it today when I left work. I saw two tourists taking pictures infront of the harbor. They proudly presented the boats in the background. And I was thinking to myself; Oh my god, Im actually living somebodys dream.. How often do we get to say that?? :)
Why not break in your weekend with a bit of sparkling wine, shopping and goodiebags? Munte plus Simonsen celebrates one year at Steen og Strøm this Friday November 5th.
And I'm so happy about them! Preordered them in July, so I've been waiting for a while for them to arrive. Was kinda worried about the size, but they fit perfectly. They are pretty hazardous though. I was planning to wear them on my girl Cecilie's birthday party, but now that I've tried them, and walked a bit around the living room, I don't think they'd go well with wine..
One day you wake up.. the sun is shining, its cold enough to put on your new fresh coat that you bought from the new fall collection, its tempting to put on glows.. You dedicate 2 hours of your afternoon just to go to IKEA to buy candlelights.. Fall is here. Isnt it fantastic? Its that middleseason feeling, the temptation of having a girlsnight at home with wine and candlelights.. the temptation of spending a saturdaynight home with that very special. Summer is over, no more rushing to the park, no more long hours outside after work. PURE satisfaction of just chillin..
But just before you get to close your eyes and dream about theese very moments, winter is here. It embraces every bone in your body, and nomatter how warm you dress.. its still cold. In this exact moment I open my eyes in a desperate confusion. What the hell am I doing in Norway?
I guess I updated you guys on my NOsmoking upto week 3.. it was great. fresh breath, great skin, loads of energy. And then the partyseason came. parklife, travelling, inspiration, long nights with wine and along came the marlboro lights!! Shit!! I really enjoyed the no-smoking everyday. But now Im back.. But its not going to last forever I tell ya! Isnt temptation a bitch?? How do you deal with temptation when its illegal? Any tips? How do you get through the parties without smoking? I get it.. U just dont.. haha, okey time for a slap in my head. Ill get back on track soon I PROMISE!!!!! Just have some things to take care of first. Get back to u!!
We all know how glossy magazines embellish the truth with the magic of photoshop. The good thing is that you don't how to be a pro to make yourself look like a supermodel - on print. There are tons of tutorials on YouTube to teach you the tricks, like how to withening your teeth. I tried it myself and got hooked! After five minutes, the woman in this picture (Let's call her Jane Doe) got the perfect Hollywood smile. Time to say goodbye to red wine stains on my party pictures!
After.... and before.
