There's nothing special about this outfit, except that it's my favourite in the whole world;) Very simple, just a white cotton dress and sandals.. But the reason this is the best thing I can imagine wearing is just because of the days I get to wear it. It's my sunshine outfit. My holiday dress. This is what I put on the days when it's real warm and everything is wonderful. What can be better than sun, sea and a easy white dress?

I attended the
Blog Slam and London launch party of
Circus #1 Fashion at the Rag Factory in Heneage street. There were lots of familiar faces; including Shini from
Park and Cube and Muireann from
Bangs and Bun. I got to meet the sweet Anke, and chatted with some of my fellow bloggers. Everyone was in such a good mood, laughing and smiling - and there was free beer! These two things are obviously connected to each other. Some bloggers read their favorite blogposts out loud as a part of a competition, which was both interesting and funny. I didn't stay for long, as my hotel was located on the other side of town - but I'm really glad I stopped by. Can't wait for the next one!

Funfact: I was introduced to designer Paul Bench, when I accidentally stepped into the wrong side of The Rag Factory. He was so sweet, and looked pleased with the launch of his SS 2011 collection.

Would you believe me if I told you this is all I've been doing the last week?
It's true.. :)
I haven't been on a computer, watched TV or even listended to music for a whole week.. Brought a couple of books, but didn't read them.. Not a single newspaper either. And I shut down my mobile so no one could reach me. No disturbances.
I was too occupied by listening to the sound of the waves. And that's how a holiday should be like, I think. Total relaxation.
.
So now, after soaking up D-vitamines, laying around with nothing but a bikini and salt water on my skin, I actually feel rested. It's the best thing in the world. And I wish that feeling for everyone.
Take time for yourself, and just enjoy life:)

Yeah, I know, it's such a cliché. I'm going to London tomorrow (21st) for a
quick visit. I was very lucky to be invited to the
Fannie Schiavoni exhibition, and I'm so excited about it! I can't wait to see her amazing creations up close. Give me a shoutout if you want to grab a coffee or something! I'm traveling alone and staying a couple of days, and it would be really great to meet up with some fellow bloggers!

Looking out at the rain I'm missing this already! Luckily I've got some souvenirs to keep on to the Italian feeling just a little longer: Italian wine, cheese, olive oil, and balsamic. That was actually the only shopping I did on this trip, which considering my rather extravagant USA tour felt very healthy to my finances... After all, vacation on the Italian countryside is all about gastronomic indulgence, relaxation, and wearing feminine dresses:)

Walking down the memory lane of this summer's stay in South Beach, Miami Beach. Had so much fun there! If you ever consider going there, here's the list:
HotelsWe stayed at
Catalina Beach Club and were very happy about that. Great service, comfortable beds, and free drinks at all the bars every night from 7-8 p.m. Located just perfect on Collins, just few minutes from the beach (free sun beds, not umbrellas...).
ShoppingThere are some good shops along
Collins Avenue from 7th. street. (streets are organized nicely, just like New York), ranging from upscale Intermix and Barneys to Urban Outfitters, Sephora and the like. If you're looking for something more unique, switch to its parallel street - Washington Avenue.
Lincoln Road is another area that is part of the Miami Beach experience. Us Norwegians would call this a pedestrian zone, Americans say it's an Outdoor Mall. Oh well - lots of stores, boutiques and sidewalk cafés make up this walking friendly road. After Ocean Drive, this is probably the best place for people watching! Sit down at
Taste D'lite, enjoy your "ice cream that isn't an ice cream but tastes like it" and soak up all kinds of styles. Playing the mind game "fake or real?" will keep you occupied for a while:)
Here you will also find
Ultra, which is great for cosmetics and hair care (I managed to spend almost two hours here checking out all the good stuff that is SO inexpensive compared to Norway).
NightlifeSouth Beach is all about clubbing and Hip hotel pool parties. For the latter, you should check out
Delano, the über chic hotel designed by Lenny Kravitz. The pool area is so cool that you'll stop care about the overpriced cocktails.
For more fun, Washington Avenue houses many of the great clubs, like
Cameo.
Beach LifeLife is a Beach - and very enjoyable on South Beach. Make sure to hire an umbrella and pile on with sunscreen to avoid
ending up like this.

Forget about Disney and Universal, Orlando's greatest rides are its shopping opportunities. If you concentrate on the many outlets malls rather than the souvernier shops, I promise you'll make a better deal than a pair of overpriced mouse ears.
Here's a small guide:
Orlando Premium OutletsLocated just a few miles away from Disney World, this boardwalk styled outlet mall lives up to its name. Many of the big chain's own outlet concepts are found here; Barneys New York outlet, Banana Republic Factory store, Final cut BCBG Max Azria, Nike Factory, and Gap outlet - just to name a few. The rest of the 100 stores offers goods marked down by 25-70 percent. However, not everything is on sale. I found a pair of sunglasses that was actually $20 more expenisive than in NYC, so check your references.
My best bargain here was a pair of yoga sweatpants from
Lululemon Athletica (love that store!). These were marked down from $86 to $25. If I had time, there would probably be more...
For more information about Orlando Premium Outlets
check out their website.Prime Outlets Orlando This outlet mall is kind of the same as the Premium Outlets, only slightly bigger (!), and is situated at the north end of International Drive (a cheesy drive jammed with concept restaurants, miniature golf installations and various factory outlets). For a Norwegian, used to everything being expensive, this is a shopping haven! Go wild for Vans ($10-$20), Nike at H&M prices and everything that a fashion economist would dream of. When you're here, time (and bucks) flies fast, so make sure your hubby is occupied for a good while. If the shopping makes you hungry, head to the busy food court for an authentic mall experience.
Click here for more information, store directory and hours.Florida MallWith more than 270 stores you'll presumably not walk empty handed out of here. The mall contain all the big fashion retailers including a 850 m2 huge XXI Forever (Forever 21's flagship store concept) , Apple, and sooo much more.
Florida mall is
located here.

Yo! Time to share some of my memories from the always fantastic New York City. This was our first stop on our three weeks of fun in the U.S. this summer. Do I even need to tell you it was great?!
Some of the things I did in NYC was:
Shopping! Not just on 5. avenue, but also in Soho, one of my favourite shopping districts.

I was lucky to find this beach bag from Michael Kors on SALE. After a thorough assessment I came to the conclusion that a classic straw bag truly is a good investment. It is like Christmas decoration - never goes out of style! And it will definitively save any summer bag crises for years to come:)
From the outside it looks like any other corner spot. But once you're leaded down the stairs and past the kitchen, a classy Mexican haven is relieved. It used to be a celebrity spotting place, but of course that was before the guidebooks discovered it. Anyway, it is still a cool and unique restaurant worth checking out.
Watching the filming of Gossip Girl!

No matter how well you plan your sightseeing, the best experiences are those that just happen. Like running into the filming of one of your favourite TV shows. A lot of fancy dressed people in addition to the stars occupied the entire block around the DVF store in the Meetpacking district. Obviously, Chuck is still alive!
Tip: If you don't trust luck, c
heck out the web site On Location Vacation for information about filming locations and events.
Tasting the delights at The City BakeryYummy!
.
.. and then leaving for Orlando
Stay tuned for more!

I had a wonderful time in Copenhagen this weekend! The vibe of the city is just pure awesomeness! I thought I'd share some pictures from our little trip, but I never know how to sum up my adventures! This time I'll just share the pictures in one post. I could tell you so much, but I don't know where to start. Vintage shopping, home-brewed beer, delicious food and charming alleys are just some of the things we experienced! All I have to say is that it's no wonder Danes are the happiest people in the world! I'll have to show you some of the gorgeous treasures I found throughout this week!

You know the feeling of waking up in crispy white sheets, in a huge bed with almost too soft madrasses.. While your eyes are still closed you start to hear some unfamiliar noises. You open your eyes and streams of light shines through the heavy curtains. You look around in the room, first at the lamp in the ceiling, and then over to the nightstand that so nicely matches the bed, and everything looks new and strange. And then you remember that you're in a hotel room, you're on holiday! Aaahhh! Jump out of bed, open the curtains and look out on the new and unknown city your about to discover. And then there's the hotel breakfast, room service or the restaurant, either way not having to lift a finger yourself is such a luxury.
I just LOVE staying in hotels.
.
These pics are from
where we stayed in
Budapest, such a pretty hotel. And as wee speak I'm searching for a new travel destination. But it's not so easy to find the right place. Since the Norwegian summer has decided to not give us real summer weather, I have decided we have to go to somewhere warm. I was thinking some place quiet and peaceful, with pretty beaches and good food. I was thinking maybe a Greek island or something. But as I'm going through the destinations and looking at hotels I wonder; what's up with the brown wool blankets??! I really don't need a luxury hotel, but I don't want to get fleas either. The good thing is that by the end of the month all the travels will drop extremely in costs, so I just have to stay cool and not order anything until a good deal shows up.
But I can't wait though, can't wait to the next time I'll wake up in a hotel room:)
.
What about you, do you love hotel living too?
And, a favourite place/ hotel to reccomend?

Yesterday we talked about sunscreen. Today I thought I'd give you a tip on holiday indoor activity. Lets say if the weather isn't all that sunny, or if you've already had enough of sun. Play in your hotel room! Do it like a home alone kid. The maids are paid to do a job, so no reason to be shy.
