century 21

We went to Century 21 today, a place where you will be able to find a lot of scoops: Shoes from Miu Miu,
Chloé, Jimmy Choo, Manolo Blahnik, Prada ++. I found myself a pair of Manoush shorts. If you pay this
store a visit you definitely have to look through a lot of garbage, but suddenly you'll find the perfect dress
or blazer 70% off. Be patient and take a trip to ground zero!

apollo theater

A recommendation to anyone going to New York: Apollo Theater in Harlem!
We went there with school today and it was really fun! Wednesdays are amateur
nights, even Michael Jackson was discovered here with Jackson 5!

Their link here.

levi + sloane

On Friday we visited the designers Levi Okunov and Sloane with our class.
Sloane reconstructs vintage pieces and put them together as the most fabulous
and innovative designs! Visit his blog here to find out more about the designproject.
Go visit the store "1929" at 174 Mott Street (North East corner of Mott and Broome).

Outside the Diane von Furstenberg show February 14th.
Notice the little girl with the Hermes birkin!

hurray

.. it's my birthday!!

power people

Alexander Wang part 3.
Basically we saw all the people I admire and look up to for their work. Diane von Furstenberg, Anna Wintour, Grace Coddington, Sarah Rutson, Carine Roitfeld, Julia Roitfeld, Scott Schuman, Garance Doré! I don't think I have to explain how much this means to a girl interested in the fashion business (not only in buying clothes). Also saw Alice Dellal, Pixie Geldof and the Cobrasnake! A lot to take in in one day!

wang girls

Alexander Wang's fall/winter '10 girls. Freja Beha Erichsen, Agyness Deyn, Natalia Vodianova,
Iselin Steiro, Natasha Poly, Karlie Kloss, Sasha Pivovarova, Abbey Lee Kershaw and many more!

I'VE HAD THE BEST DAY EVER!!

We went to pier 94 where Alexander Wang held his show this afternoon, hoping to maybe see a model or two. Make that twenty, and add about every important person in the fashion industry! I will post a WHOLE LOT more the upcoming days, so stay tuned! In the meantime, you can look at some of the shoes and bags attending the show. I can reveal that some off the shoes belong to Vogue editor Sarah Rutson, french Vogue editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld and her daughter Julia.

FASHION WEEK

Day 2 of Fashion Week has come to an end - and it has been crazy so far!
Models, celebs, artists, you name it: Margherita Missoni, Chris Brown, Estelle,
Natasha Poly, Sasha Pivovarova, Joe Zee, Irina Lazareanu and Hanne Gaby Odiele ++.

Some pictures from my friend Mette.

candles in the wind

Thursday night, we went to Tenjune! Great club!
On our way home we passed the Alexander McQueen store in Meatpacking.
The windows were covered and there were so many flowers and candles outside.
Rest in Peace!

Wearing new dress from H&M Trend (yes I have a lot from H&M) bought on sale for $15!

storm

Our first week here in Manhattan has been filled with sun.
But today, as the second picture shows, there is a "snowstorm".
We Norwegians have to laugh at the Americans who even closes
down the schools in Manhattan! Btw; some of you have already
been asking some questions about "Moteledelse" that I study through
the Norwegian institution Gateway College. But if you have any questions,
shoot, and maybe I'll make a post out of it!

magnolia

Yesterday we visited Magnolia Bakery (sooooo good) and Marc by Marc Jacobs.
I bought matching earrings to the necklace I already have and those cheap key chains!
We spent the night eating dinner at leSouk and then we went to the eco-nightclub Greenhouse!
If you ever go to New York, make sure to check it out!

juliet

Yesterday we watched Super Bowl, danced at Juliette and the night ended in a limousine!
Now we're off again after a long day of school, shopping and cup cakes.
Only in New York, kids.

yesterday

status report

We finally got our self out of the scam and into a new wonderful apartment!
We have a walk-in-closet and a great view, and we can even sleep at night!
Now we're off to a Manhattan treasure hunt with school,
and later we are going on a boat trip to Statue of Liberty. Watch out New York!

By the glamorous, ooh, the flossy, flossy

Well, reality has slapped us in the face,
and we met New York City with rats, cobwebs and mildew!
Not so glamorous! To be continued..

ready. set. go

For those of you who wondered,
YES, I am fond of light pink and nude coloring!

Blouse from Zara.

I hope you're not tired of hearing about New York, because in two days I'll be there,
and that will off course reflect this blog! And like for the changes in my life,
there will be changes on the blog as well!

haiti

Went to the Haiti Aid consert in the Opera today (Dugnad for Haiti). It was awesome! It's great to see all the effort people put into this, and how engaged the whole world becomes during such disasters as the earthquake in Haiti.

Blazer from H&M Trend

lace

I just had to buy this dress! They also have it in black! Monki, 400 NOK (70$). The lace is beautiful in a paisley pattern and the fabric underneath is in a peachy color! Love it. Looks kind of vintage, don't you think? Saving it for my bday a month from now!
